The Humboldt Avenue Bypass (NJ 81) connects with both the express and local roadways of the Pulaski Skyway Approach (US 1&9) in the southbound direction. Note that the "NJ 81" designation is unsigned and the southbound bypass is referred to only as "TO I-95 / New Jersey Turnpike". Filmed June 4, 2002.

This is the Humboldt Avenue Bypass (NJ 81) northbound just north of the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95) split in Elizabeth. The interchange between the Humboldt Avenue Bypass (NJ 81) and the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95) utilizes ramps that lead to a now-closed service plaza. The closer elevated ramp was a part of the old service plaza ramp system linking the car lanes to the plaza, while the more distant elevated ramp is new and was constructed as part of the Humboldt Avenue Bypass (NJ 81) project. The northbound Humboldt Avenue Bypass (NJ 81) only connects with the local lanes of the Pulaski Skyway Approach (US 1&9), and because the local lanes are not freeway-grade in this section, this is the end of the freeway.
